Adrian Hough and Jacqui Kease are delighted to announce that Adrian is the new owner of Spotlight Academy.

Classes will continue as usual during this transitional phase.

Cameron Bright recently finished filming Boy of Pigs in Baltimore opposite Gretchen Mol. The plot places Cameron in a Kennedy-era coming-of-age story.

Jacqui Kaese, who coached Cameron on his audition material for this role, believes that this will carry Cameron over from the child to the hot leading man roles that he's destined to do. Cameron was nominated a second time for Critics Choice Award for best young actor and was edged out by a 24 year old.

Meanwhile, Jacqui just wrapped as Casting Director on the horror flick Scourge. The movie, directed by Jonas Quastel and produced by PHD Productions from Vancouver, included over 250 local background performers plus half a dozen local principal and actor roles. Scourge is scheduled for release in 2008 and it is hoped that Nanaimo will host a premier.

Adrian Hough just featured as a guest starring role on Smallville which aired in February. He is currently rehearsing for a major role for the stage which will play in the Spring.

With the revitalization of downtown Nanaimo, Spotlight Academy has been fortunate to find new studio space with Craig Palin of In-Print on South Terminal Avenue. The film studio is ready to go and workshops and classes will be held at the new location at the end of the month. We ask for patience and understanding during the improvement of the area and know with the Conference Centre and planned boutique businesses who are due to join us at the Courtyard, the future is indeed BRIGHT! (Pardon the pun).

Jacqui Kaese is more than excited that fellow National Youth Theatre alumna, Helen Mirren, was recently awarded the Oscar for Best Actress in The Queen.
